Jerry Dean Schad, 66, of Purdy, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at 7:55 a.m. at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He was born on Nov. 18, 1944 in Cassville, MO, the son of the late Rudolph and Leona (Casper) Schad. He was united in marriage on Dec. 19, 1964 to Carolyn Laughlin at Stones Prairie Lutheran Church in Purdy, MO and she survives.
He was a graduate of Crowder College holding an associate degree in agriculture and was a farmer. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Purdy.
Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn; one son: Ryan and wife, Carla, of Purdy; three brothers: Phil Schad, of Purdy, Lawrence Schad, of Monett, and Ronald Schad, of Purdy; two grandchildren: Mary (Mikey) and Bayleigh.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Rudolph and Leona.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, MO.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Purdy, MO. Burial will follow services at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Stones Prairie near Purdy.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church.
