The Purdy FFA recently held its annual barnwarming and alumni fire and ice chili cook-off. The evening began with chili and homemade ice cream. The winner of the chili cook-off was Jeff Sullivan. The candidates for the freshman class were Robby Moody and Mickayla Sullivan. Sophomore candidates were Alex Mareth and Kirstin Strother. Junior candidates were Heath Burnside and Brittany Hayes, and senior candidates were Tyler Lowery and Katie Clay. Candidates and fellow FFA members competed in games to win the title of 2011 Purdy barnwarming king and queen. The king and queen title went to Lowery and Clay. Following the festivities, a dance was held.
