Carthage-Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 11/09/11

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold 1.00-
2.00 lower. A high percent of the offering went to slaughter with many
producers culling their herds as they approach winter with less than ideal
inventories of forage. Enough rain fell the last several days that the term
“mud” was overheard at the barn today for the first time in long time. Supply
was heavy and demand moderate for slaughter classes.

1100.00-1110.00, 1st stage 1055-1175 lbs 725.00-925.00; short and solid mouth
to aged 2nd and 3rd stage 1185-1300 lbs 760.00-845.00. Large 1-2  5-6 yrs 2nd
and 3rd stage few 1450-1600 lbs 835.00-925.00. Medium and Large 2  2 yrs to
