Couple exchange vows

Kristin Marie Stluka and Jeremy Trey Canady were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Father Daniel Robles performed a double-ring ceremony. A dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the parish hall.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Mary Stluka, of Monett. She is the granddaughter of Mary Ann Stumpff and the late Donald Stumpff, of Norway, Iowa, and Marilyn Hunt, of West Salem, Wisc., and the late Robert Stluka, Sr., of Onalaska, Wisc.

The groom is the son of Karen Canady and the late Rick Canady, of Monett. He is the grandson of Luvena Able and the late Ronnie Able, Sr., of Monett, and Margaret Canady and the late Charles Canady, of Monett.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a chapel-length champagne mist and ivory lace Sottero and Midgley A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. Her hand-tied bouquet consisted of yellow roses, yellow mini-calla lilies and blue delphinium. She also held her Grandma Stumpff's lace handkerchief that was used at her own wedding in 1951.

Maid of honor was Allison Thornton, friend of the bride, of Sioux Falls, SD, and bridesmaids were Jennifer Hatz, cousin of the bride, of Denver, Colo., and Spirit Stevens, friend of the bride, of Fulton.

Christopher Canady, brother of the groom, of Pittsburgh, Pa., was the best man. Groomsmen were Jamison Canady, brother of the groom, of Monett, and Casey Renfro, friend of the groom, of Wichita, Kam. Ushers were Mark Wagner, friend of the groom, of St. James, NY, and Tyler Schumacher, cousin of the bride, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The flower girls were Tatum and Reece Goerdt, cousins of the bride, of Pella, Iowa, and the ring bearer was Jayden Stumpff, cousin of the bride, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Ceremony music was provided by Melissa Miller, friend of the bride, of Monett, pianist, and vocalists were John Stumpff, cousin of the bride, of Chicago, Ill. and Kara Pothast, cousin of the bride, of Palatine, Ill.

Lector was Nancy Notton-Stumpff, aunt of the bride, of Norway, Iowa. Host and hostesses were Steve and Kim Stumpff, of Walford, Iowa, Keith and Rebecca Bertschy, of San Diego, Calif. and Bob and Gale Boyd, of Monett, aunts and uncles of the couple. Personal attendant was Lauren Saunders, friend of the bride, of Monett.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Monett High School and a 2011 graduate of Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. She is employed by MRI Global in Kansas City as an assistant chemist.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Monett High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri in Rolla, now known as Missouri University of Science and Technology. He is employed with Jack Henry & Associates, Inc., as a system administrator in Lenexa, Kan. Following a honeymoon to Canoe Bay, Wis., the couple resides in Mission, Kan.
