Bonnie McKinley, a Lawrence County resident, recently had her wish granted by the Granted Wish Foundation. Her wish was to meet Kenny Rogers. Bonnie attends the Community Center for the Developmentally Disabled. She has disabilities and is also dealing with the challenge of cancer. Elaine Sherer, resource specialist with the Lawrence County Board for the Developmentally Disabled and Community Support Services, found the website of the Granted Wish Foundation and nominated Bonnie for a wish. Elaine completed the paperwork and application, and the wish was granted to meet Kenny Rogers in Seattle, Wash. The foundation flew Bonnie and her personal care attendant to Seattle. They received accommodations at the Tulalip Resort and wereable to go backstage and have pictures taken. She also got to see Kenny Rogers in concert. "Kenny called me his special girl," said Bonnie.
