Local couple weds

Jim McCaffrey and Robin and Tim Brodie, of Monett, announce the marriage of their daughter, Kylie Fae, to Matthew Scott Whisman, son of Scott and Kim Whisman, of Monett.

The wedding was held on July 16 with a small ceremony at New Site Baptist Church in Monett with Rev. Aaron Weibel officiating.

The wedding party included Morgan Kelley, cousin of the bride, maid of honor; Stephanie Whisman, sister of the groom; Emily Ashley, friend of the bride; Katie McLaughlin, cousin of the groom; and Shelby Scott, friend of the bride.

Chad Siron served as the best man. Also attending the groom were: Joey Thomas, friend of the groom; Jonathon Whisman, brother of the groom; Jason Whisman, brother of the groom; and Marcus McCaffrey, brother of the bride.

Flower girls were Ellie and Selah Whisman, sisters of the groom, and the ring bearer was Kyle Sverko, cousin of the groom. Door greeters were: Alex Sparkman, Dash Ballay, Jonah Dunlap, all cousins of the bride; and Marcus Sverko, cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at 425 Downtown in Springfield. A meal was catered by PM Catering, of Pierce City. The wedding cake and cupcakes were made by Plain and Fancy Bakery in Springfield. The music was provided by DJ David Jones, of Pierce City. During the dinner, a video of the eight-year courtship of the couple was played.

Special entertainment arrived to surprise the newlyweds. Marcus McCaffrey and Shelby Scott portrayed Sonny and Cher and lyp-synced "I've Got You Babe." Rexanna Sparkman, Melissa Ballay, aunts of the bride, and Robin Brodie, mother of the bride, were Sister Sledge and lyp-synced "We Are Family." Carolyn Grainger was Patsy Cline who lyp-synced "Crazy," and portraying the Village People were Jim McCaffrey, father of the bride, as the construction worker, Todd Ballay, uncle of the bride, the Army man, Marcus McCaffrey, brother of the bride, the cowboy, Steve Schmidt, godfather of the bride, the Indian and Jonathan and Jason Whisman, brothers of the groom, the biker and policeman. They lyp-synced "YMCA."

Following a honeymoon trip to Florida, the couple currently reside in Republic with their three puppies, Cali, Hansy and Buddy. The groom is employed at Jack Henry and Associates, and the bride is employed at Oxford Healthcare in Springfield.
