Leoma "Lee" O. Pierce, age 89, of Pierce City, MO died on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, MO following a short illness. Mr. Pierce was born in Ritchey, MO on Thursday, Aug. 10, 1922. He was the son of Olynthus Levi and Frances LaRue (Callaway) Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was married to Deloris Robertson on Saturday, Jan. 17, 1959 at the Berwick Church. Lee was a well-known cattle farmer. He served his country from 1942 until 1945 in the United States Army and was a member of the Berwick Church.
Surviving are his wife, Deloris, two sons: Gary Pierce, of Pierce City, MO and Rick Pierce, of Monett, MO; one sister: Jeanniece Neil, of Gold Beach, OR; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011. Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will be held at the Berwick Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 with Pastor Mike Langford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
