The Pierce City Lady Eagles volleyball team claimed the Class 2, District 11 title on Tuesday night with a 25-10, 25-23 victory over second-seeded Diamond.
Pierce City entered the tournament as the top seed and downed College Heights 25-11, 25-21 in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game.
Against the Lady Cougars, Pierce City was led by Krishna Merriman with six kills, one ace and nine digs. Kaelyn Osborn contributed six kills and one ace. Megan Golubski added 12 assists, and Christine Younker recorded four blocks.

Against Diamond, the Lady Eagles were led by Osborn with seven kills and seven aces. Golubski tallied 12 assists, and Merriman finished with one block.
Pierce City improves to 26-4-5 on the season and plays Strafford at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Clever. The winner faces the Clever-Eldorado Springs winner at 6 p.m. with a berth to the Class 2 Final Four on the line.
