New adult fiction on the shelves at the Pierce City Branch Library includes: "The Lazy Couponer: How to Save Over $25,000 Per Year in Just 45 Minutes Each Week" by Jamie Chase; and "American Picker's Guide to Picking" by Libby Callaway.

There is one new CD book available entitled: "Bonnie" by Iris Johansen. Seven new DVDs include: Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated; Darling Lili; X-Men First Class; Passchendaele; A Christmas Romance; Christmas Lodge; and Christmas Cupid.

New adult fiction titles include: "As the Pig Turns: An Agatha Raisin Mystery" by M.C. Beaton; "Those Across the River" by Christopher Buehlman; "River's Song" by Melody Carlson, large print; "The Lady of Bolton Hill" by Elizabeth Camden; "Murder on Music Row: A Music Industry Thriller" by Stuart Dill; "Lady of the Rivers" by Philippa Gregory; "Bonnie" by Iris Johansen; "The Countess" by Rebecca Johns; "Hotwire: a Maggie O'Dell Novel" by Alex Kava, large print; "House Divided" by Michael Lawson; "Lassiter" by Paul J Levine, large print; "Tag Man: A Joe Gunther Novel" by Archer Mayor; "Simple Secrets" and "Simple Choices" both by Nancy Mehl; "The Christmas Wedding" by James Patterson; "Valley of Dreams" by Lauraine Snelling; "The Best of Me" by Nicholas Sparks; "Seed of Evil" by David Thompson; and "The Dark at the End" by Francis Paul Wilson.

New non-fiction young adult titles include: "Every Thing On It: Poems and Drawings" by Shel Silverstein, and in fiction, "First Kill" by Heather Brewer; "Nerds 3: The Cheerleaders of Doom" by Michael Buckley; "Rangers Apprentice: The Lost Stories" by John Flanagan; and "Perfect" by Ellen Hopkins.

During "Teen Read Week" there were special bookmarks for the teen readers and a grab bag that the teens could pick from every time they checked items out or used a computer. For the "Re-Cover that Book" activity, everyone who re-covered their favorite book received a free book of their choice. During the "Read a Movie" activity there were 19 sign-ups and 15 completions of reading "Rapunzel." All 15 who read the book received a free book of their choice.

Twenty-one attended movie day. Popcorn and juice were served, and at the end of the movie, all of those who attended received a free book and a goody bag.

The Halloween party will be held on Nov. 1. Story Time and Lap Time will be combined for the party, which will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Pierce City Branch Library is located at 101 N. Walnut. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The library is closed on Mondays.
