Leroy Krueger, age 90, of Monett, MO, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at his residence following a short illness.
Leroy was born on Nov. 2, 1920 in Freistatt, MO, the son of Richard and Hilda (Block) Krueger.
He was a graduate of Pierce City High School with the Class of 1939. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. For over 40 years, Leroy worked for the Missouri Department of Agriculture as a fresh fruit and vegetable inspector.
Leroy was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Monett, as well as a member of the V.F.W. Post #4207 and the American Legion Post #91. Leroy was an avid fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed his trips to Roaring River and around Branson.
On June 19, 1954 in Rogers, AR, Leroy and Frances Graham were united in marriage and she survives. They were blessed with over 57 years together.
Additional survivors include one daughter: Linda Trimmer and husband, Noel, of St. Genevieve, MO; one brother: Raymond Krueger and wife, Louise, of Mansfield, Texas; and one sister: Gerda Fitts and husband, James, of Hermitage, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Orville Krueger.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Monett with Pastor Richard Cody officiating. Interment was in McCormick St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Hospice Compassus.
