Tickets are now on sale for the eighth annual Monett Chamber of Commerce's Festival of Flavors, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the First United Methodist Church at 1600 N. Central in Monett.
This will be the second year the event is held at the Methodist church. Chamber Executive Director Suzy McElmurry said the facility offered a variety of added accommodations, such as access to a full kitchen, warming trays, a freezer and ice.
"Guests could come in and be out of the weather," McElmurry said. "We had a couple of guys who parked cars last year, and that was very nice. Having adequate parking was a big plus."
The festival offers a showcase for local caterers, restaurants and food suppliers to show off their holiday specials. Menus can be sampled and contacts made.
"Variety is the big thing," McElmurry said. "There's something for everyone, from appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts and specialty beverages. People can come in the first or second hour and sample all the food.
New vendors coming this year include the food and nutrition services department at Cox Monett Hospital, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Middleton All Natural Meats from Pierce City, and Bubba's Steak and Seafood restaurant in Monett. The Dairy Farmers of America's cheese store will return after an absence of several years.
Regular vendors attending will be back. They include: the culinary arts class at the Southwest Area Career Center; Maggie Mae's; the Bayou; Denali Dreams; Mocha Jo's; Camp Barnabas. In all, there will be 20 food servers.
