Betty Lou Medlin

Betty Lou Medlin, 78, of Monett passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at Cox South in Springfield. She was born on July 20, 1933 in Monett, the daughter of the late Marvin and Eva (Spain) Johnson.

She was united in marriage on Oct. 15, 1992 in Monett to Bill Medlin, he survives.

She was a homemaker and a lovingly devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved quilting as well as being a fashionista.

Betty is survived by husband Bill, one son: Shawn Haddock, Monett; two daughters: Becky Washburn, Monett, and Kim Simmons, Monett; eight grandchildren: Kyla Jenkins and husband, Heath; Shannon Freeman, Bryan Washburn and wife, Heather; Tonya Walter and husband, Jimmy; Denise Stanton, Shasta Haddock, Montana Haddock, and Steven Haddock; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, Marvin and Eva, and one son: Steven Haddock.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday Oct. 26, 2011 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, with graveside services to follow visitation at Kings Prairie Cemetery at 7:30 p.m. in Monett.

Memorial donations may be made to the grandchildren's college fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
