Scott Sutton, who works with franchise store owner Bruce Teeter, extended the official welcome to chamber members. Sutton explained Aaron's business as a lease-to-own store as well as an active retailer for furniture, appliances and electronics.
He said the Monett store has operated for five years and last year was the company's store of the year. Chamber members had lunch with barbecue from Big Baldy's and exchanged information about themselves and their firms in socializing.
In the business part of the meeting, Suzie McElmurry, at center, the chamber executive director, distributed copies of bylaws changes for a vote. The proposal updated existing language by authorizing electronic voting, established the new board officer position of secretary/treasurer as well as added a section about being a member in good standing.
