The Barry County Commission is planning to hold two open information meetings in the northern part of the county over the next two weeks.
The first meeting will be held this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Monett Park Casino. The second meeting is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Purdy Community Building.
The purpose of both meetings will be to discuss the current financial condition of the county as well as a proposed 3/16th of a cent law enforcement sales tax that will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot.
Barry County Prosecutor Johnnie Cox and Sheriff Mick Epperly will make presentations at the meetings outlining the needs of their offices. Barry County commissioners and other officeholders will also be in attendance.
All area residents are encouraged to attend. The meetings will include a time for questions from the audience.
