Larry "Foxy" Means, age 69, of St. Joseph, Mo., died on Monday, Oct. 17 at his home.
He was born on Nov. 10, 1941 to Wilbur and Cleo (Justus) Means. Larry married Elda M. "Bubbles" Tiesel on Sept. 27, 2003. She survives of the home.
He served in the Missouri Air National Guard from January 1964 to January 1970 during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Means was a barber for over 50 years and owner of Foxy's Hair Den. HE was a member of Barber's Local #128, of which he had served as president and secretary; Century Club at Lafayette High School; Carnegie Baptist Masons; St. Joseph Council #9, Royal and Select Masters; Hugh De Payens Commandery #4, Knights Templars and Moila Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his children: Chad (Cindy), of Riverside, Mo.; Corey (Becky), of Kansas City, Mo.; and Dena (Brian) Laske, of Warrenton, Mo; one sister: Carolyn (Chuck) Dykes, of Overland Park, Kan.; step-sons: Randy (Lashel) Crouch, of Monett; Mo.; Ryan (Cindy) Crouch, of Wentworth, Mo.; and Adam (Charity) Crouch, of Verona, Mo.; seven grandchildren: Jillian Gamel (Nick), Andrew Laske, Evan, Chloe, Carly Jane, Katie and Landree Means; six step-grandchildren: Kyle, Aaron, Dustin, Zachery and Ana Crouch and Christopher Myers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 at Mierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory at St. Joseph, Mo. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20 at the funeral home where friends can call after 2 p.m. on Thursday.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Carnegie Baptist Church or Hands of Hope Hospice.
