Costume contest continues

The community Halloween costume contest ,which has been hosted by The Monett Times for the past few years, has a new co-sponsor this year, The Monett Lions Club and the newspaper will work together to continue the Halloween tradition.

The costume contest will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 at the Monett City Hall auditorium.

There will be five children's categories and one adult category. The Lions Club will present cash prizes of $20 for first place, $10 for second place and $5 for third place in each division. The divisions are: age 1 and under; 2 to 3 years; 4 to 5 years; 6 to 8 years; 9 to 12 years; and the adult division, 13 and over.

The Monett Times will provide goodie bags for all of the participants. The top three in each division will have their photo taken for publication in the newspaper.
