Louise Welsandt, age 95, of Elyria, Ohio, formerly of Monett, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Avon Oaks Nursing Center in Avon, Ohio.
Louise was born on Aug. 29, 1916, in Butterfield, MO, the daughter of the late Daniel A. Cowherd and Addie (Lane) Cowherd. She worked for Jumping Jacks Shoe in Monett for over 27 years. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. She was also a member of the Altar Society as well as the Pleasant Dale Club.
|On April 18, 1935, in Joplin, MO, Louise and Lewis A. Welsandt were united in marriage. They were blessed with over 52 years together before his death in 1987.|
Louise is survived by two sons: Lewis R. "Bob" Welsandt and his wife, Joyce, of Elyria, Ohio, and Thomas D. Welsandt and his wife, Cindy, of Brighton, TN; two sisters: Oleta Kollar, of Ashland, Ohio, and Elma Jackson, of Cassville, MO; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Father John Braun will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
