Over 120 students were initiated in the Missouri Iota Chapter of Alpha Chi, a national scholastic honor society, at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin during ceremonies on Sunday, Oct. 2 on the MSSU campus.
Among the students initiated were: Colt Moller, Jesse Poynter, Jerry Harrison, all of Monett; Tiffany Johnson, of Pierce City; and Brittany Linenbrink, of Cassville.
In order to be eligible for the organization, juniors or seniors must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.7 or above.
Alpha Chi is a coeducational society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students to honor those who achieve such distinction. Each inductee receives a recognition pin and a membership certificate. Each member is eligible to participate in society activities.
