Mr. Bishoff was born on March 29, 1922 in Swissvale, Pa., the son of Harry J. and Hannah (Jones) Bishoff. He was a 1940 graduate of Wilkinsburg (Pa.) High School, a 1947 graduate of Penn State University and a 1950 graduate of Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, NY. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a code clerk in a reconnaissance team with the Fourth Armored Division which crossed Europe after D-Day.
He was ordained in January 1951 and served as chaplain at the East Moline Mental Health Center from 1958 to 1980. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in East Moline, Ill., and attended First Christian Church in Monett, Mo.
He married Ann Nagel on June 3, 1950, and she preceded him in death in 1996.
Survivors include one son: Murray Bishoff, of Pierce City, Mo.; and one grandson, John Bishoff, of Moline, Ill.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rhoslyn and Ralph.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett with a memorial service from 8 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the First Presbyterian Church in East Moline, Ill. Burial will be in the Arsenal Island Federal Cemetery in Rock Island, Ill.
