A flag retirement ceremony was held on Thursday at Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post #91. Assistance was provided by Boy Scout Troop #38 and Cub Scout Pack #140. A total of 136 flags were burned in a formal ceremony. Thomas Willis, at left, was assisted by Justin and Casey Christiansen in placing flags on the fire after the Cub Scouts brought the folded flags forward for retirement. Legion Commander Ron Branum presided over the ceremony with Vice Commander Nick Sczenski. Travis Hedrick, the Legion district chaplain, provided the prayer.
