Monett High School cheerleaders competed in the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association state competition this past weekend.

Showing their spirit, the 12-girl squad earned fifth place in the 4A small division against 16 different schools from all over the state. This is the highest place Monett has earned since the squad began competing in 2009.

As regional champions, the Monett cheerleaders have worked very hard to achieve this honor by practicing every day after school since early May. Their routine was choreographed by the seniors this year and was three minutes long and included a cheer, a dance tumbling sequence and some difficult stunts.
