She taught for 25 years in the Neosho and Granby Public School Systems. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. She loved children and taught piano for many years. She played the organ and piano at Sweetwater Baptist and Calvary Baptist for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John L. Baker whom she married on May 18, 1952 in Monett, MO. She is also survived by one son: John M. Baker, of Neosho; one daughter: Janet Baker, of Carthage and one sister: Marjorie Haggard, of Neosho; one grandson, John Curtis Baker of Lubbock, Texas and two great grandsons: John Andrew Baker and Luke Timothy Baker.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and her parents.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Casady, II officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Casady, Sr. The casket will be closed at service time and will remain closed.
Friends may call at the funeral home, in Neosho, Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening.
