Fall arrives

The change of seasons produces fall colors and harvest scenes in October. Calendar girl Emily Copening enjoyed the scenic setting in the hay bale maze at Wickman Gardens in Monett. Emily, the daughter of Mike and Tracy Copening, is president of the senior class at Monett High School and Key Club, past president of the choir and treasurer of the speech and debate students in the National Forensic League. Emily has gone to national competition in speech after taking first place at districts in dramatic interpretation as a sophomore and duo interpretation as a junior. She has also earned a I rating at state in choir. Emily enjoys making music, studying fashion and style, spending time with her best friend and boyfriend and playing with her cat, Socks. She has worked for two years at Subway and attends the Church of the Nazarene. She has a younger brother, Mitchell.
