A crew for Kenney-Hall Construction, of Buffalo, has been at work this week removing the old canopy on the southwest corner of Central Park Elementary School in Monett and starting work to construct a new canopy similar to the archways at the entrances to Monett Intermediate and Monett Elementary Schools.

Dan Kenney, company president, said work last weekend was slowed by electrical materials that needed to be removed. The next step will be to pour footings for the large structure.

Work is expected to be done by Nov. 1.
