Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 09/30/11

Thursday, September 29, 2011

Many producers are still waiting on the little bit of rain they
need to put some volume back on their pastures and instead have been
met with dry, sunny days and pasture condition decline. This has
left some wondering if they will have any fall regrowth before the
cold and frost get here. At this time, while demand in the
drought areas of the country is steady, the problem hay buyers are
facing is a lack of transportation to get the hay to them.
Hay demand is light. Supply is moderate. Prices are steady.
