The third annual Monett FFA chili supper and auction will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Southwest Area Career Center at 2 David Sippy Dr. in Monett.
The menu will consist of chili or potato soup, a drink and a dessert. Freewill donations will be accepted for the meal. During the meal, the Ripplin' Creek bluegrass band will provide entertainment.
There will be a silent auction and a country store. The silent auction will include a variety of gift certificates, gift baskets, Branson show tickets and other donated items.
The country store will offer homemade craft items, baked goods, home-canned jellies, jams, pickles and cookbooks.
Following the meal, a live auction will be held. Among the items will be a handmade FFA quilt, wheat straw, young duroc boar pig, tools and archery targets. Chances will be sold on a $500 gift card for a drawing to be held on Dec. 1. There will be door prizes.
"This event is our major fundraiser of the year," said Tamra Sunby, FFA advisor. "It has grown each year and we hope to continue to improve each year. So many FFA Boosters, parents and FFA members work countless hours to make it a success. We also appreciate the businesses and community for their donations and support. It is a good meal. There is something for everyone."
The FFA members and FFA boosters have been working on craft items, including wooden feeders, tire feeders and covered bunk feeders.
The public is invited to attend the annual event.
