Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 9/14/11

Receipts:  1446    Last Week:  1138    Last Year:  1268

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 3.00-5.00 lower, and
slaughter bulls sold 4.00-5.00 lower. Several herds were dispersed for
producers running short of water. There was a moderate supply of bred cows
and cow/calf pairs. Light rain fell across the area today but sure not
enough to stimulate any forage growth. Supply was heavy and demand light
to moderate for slaughter classes.
