The second annual fundraising banquet for The Den youth center in Monett will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Southwest Area Career Center commons area.
Branson performer Keith "Red" Allen will be the featured guest. Well known for his role as a hillbilly farmer in the Keith Allen's Redneckers Show at Silver Dollar City, Allen will entertain with comedy, music and stories from his past. Allen now has his own show in Branson.
In addition to Allen's performance, guests at the banquet will enjoy a Prime Cut catered dinner and a silent auction where items donated from area businesses will be sold to the highest bidder. All proceeds from the dinner and auction will directly benefit The Den.
The doors open at 6 p.m., and the silent auction will begin at that time. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, entertainment will be provided by a local youth band and then Allen will speak and perform. The event is expected to conclude around 9 p.m.
Tickets to the banquet are on sale now. The cost to attend the banquet is $25 per person. Businesses, churches or groups can also sponsor a table for a cost of $250, which includes eight tickets.
To purchase a ticket or table or for more information, contact Brian Smith, director of The Den, at 635-1108 or 417-669-5821.
The Den, which is located above Mocha Jo's at 404 E. Broadway, is a safe, fun and well supervised place for area youth to hang out. The Den is open to youth in seventh through 12th grades.
