Broadway Nights in downtown Monett will again offer shopping for extended hours and live entertainment this Friday night. Participating merchants will be open until 7 p.m.
The recent change to cooler fall-like weather has prompted a switch in wardrobes, and downtown Monett clothing merchants have merchandise to match the occasion.
Brownsberger's has half fall and half summer inventory on hand. Fashion Crossroads has sweaters, discounts on summer inventory and new items arriving daily.
Peppers and Company has new fall arrivals and additional markdowns on summer stock. The Trunk has a wide line of fall clothing for children, boots and a new line of sportswear available. Dancewear and cheerleading supplies are in stock, along with a sale on jeans.
Westco has the new Serta I-Comfort bed with memory foam and gel infusion in stock, along with a good assortant of reclining motion sofas. Blessings Books and Gifts is giving away free encouragement cards for the national Day of Encouragement.
At 7 p.m., live entertainment will begin at the coffee shops. Mocha Jo's at 404 E. Broadway will have Amy Sampson and Kristy Berger, two Monett school teachers, performing music. At Denali Dreams at 316 E. Broadway, Robin Braun will offer a concert of pop song standards and modern classics.
Broadway Nights organizer Shaun Bennett said the October Broadway Nights will feature a show of cars, bikes and trucks downtown as a special quarterly installment of the popular monthly activity.
Broadway Nights is a joint effort by downtown businesses to provide an old-fashioned night on the town with shopping and entertainment.
