The First Baptist Church of Monett held a dedication of its new church building on Sunday, June 26. The first service in the new building, located on Highway 37 south of Monett, was held on Sunday, June 5.

In honor of the dedication, volunteers were asked to decorate the tables in any style that they wanted. Many of the decorations featured sports, cowboy, old time photos and bird houses.

The dedication was made by Dr. Bill Cox, pastor of the church. During the ceremonies, Charlie Huntress was presented with a grill for his contributions to the building of the church. All committees involved in the church were recognized with dinner following the service.
