Major pieces of business are scheduled for the Monett City Council's monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
The audit of the city's business for the 2010-11 fiscal year will be presented. Council members will certify results of the Aug. 2 election that authorized the sale of $12 million in bonds to build a new water treatment plant. An agreement with Missouri Main Street Connection and the Monett Main Street Committee over the recently approved $23,500 grant will be ratified by ordinance.
Council members will accept public comment on an ordinance extending the length of garage sales. An ordinance about public disclosure to avoid conflicts of interest, adopted every two years, will come up for consideration. Bids will also be reviewed for demolition of a house at 310 County Rd.
Darwin Groomer has asked for time to address the council.
Bills will be paid and department heads will review activity during the past month.
A closed session is scheduled to discuss leasing, purchase or sale of real estate.
The meeting will be held in council chambers at Monett City Hall and is open to the public.
