PC school board hires staff, sets gate prices

Pierce City R-6 Board members approved several probationary contracts and extra duty assignments at their July meeting.

Probationary contracts were offered to Allison Davis, high school business teacher, and Sandra Slone, speech implementer, for the 2011-12 school year.

Extra duty contracts were offered to: Beau Davis, assistant high school football coach, with a stipend of $3,000; Steve Garner, middle school boys' basketball coach, with a stipend of $1,675; and Davis, high school volleyball coach, with a stipend of $3,815.

In other business, board members approved taking bids of seven surplus cafeteria tables. Bids will close Aug. 10.

Gate and game prices for the upcoming athletic season will remain the same as last year's. Admittance to varsity games will cost $4 for adults and $2 for students. Admittance to junior varsity games has been set at $2 for adults and $1 for students.

Season passes will also remain the same as last year at a cost of $25 for students, $50 for adults and $125 for a family pass.

The next meeting of the Pierce City R-6 Board of Education will be at 6:30 on Wednesday, Aug. 24 in the office of the superintendent.
