Purdy Schools have announced registration and schedule pick-up dates for elementary, middle and high school students.
|Purdy Elementary will hold its new student enrollment for the 2011-12 school year on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday Aug. 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. Children must accompany parents for the enrollment process, which should take approximately 30 minutes.||Students in grades 5 through 12 who are new to the district have the opportunity to enroll on Aug. 9 and 10 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. A parent or legal guardian must be present to enroll their student.|
To enroll, students new to the district must bring a copy of their immunizations records; their birth certificate; evidence of residency, such as a utility or rent receipt; name and address of previous school; and a transcript of grades. Parents must also provide personal identification or custodial documentation.
New students will not be enrolled on the first day of school, Wednesday, Aug. 17. New student enrollment will resume on Thursday, Aug. 18 by appointment only.
Seventh and eighth grade students, who scheduled in the spring, will be able to pick up schedules on Aug. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the middle school office.
The high school counselor will be available in her office between the hours of 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. for schedule pick-up on Aug. 10 for grade 12; Aug. 11 for grade 11; and Aug. 12 for grade 10. Students in both the middle school and high school who scheduled classes in the spring will need to bring emergency contact numbers and any updated immunization records. All debts must be paid before schedules may be picked up.
Fifth, sixth, and ninth grade orientation will be held on Aug. 11. Fifth and sixth grade orientation will begin at 6 p.m. in the middle school. Ninth grade orientation will begin at 7 p. m. in the cafeteria. Students must be accompanied by parents and are urged to attend. Information about the middle school and high school programs will be provided and students will receive their schedules at this time and sign up for lockers. All obligations must be paid before schedules and lockers will be released. Phone numbers for emergency, home, and work and any updated immunization records should be brought the night of the orientation.
The opening day of school for Purdy R-II School District is scheduled for Aug. 17. Doors will open at 8 a.m., and students who do not have a scheduled, after-school activity will need to leave the building by 3:30 p.m. Buses will be running the same routes.
