Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Many figures in the law enforcement community turned out to wish Clate Baker, shown at right, well during his retirement reception last Friday. Among those was Circuit Judge Robert Wiley, at left. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff]
A reception was held on Friday for Clate Baker, at right, who is retiring after 26 years working for the State of Missouri. Baker has been with the public defenders office for the past 14 years and has served as district defender for the 39th Judicial Circuit for the past three and a half years.

Baker is going into private practice in Springfield as a criminal defense attorney.

He has signed a contract to work with the Monett Police Department and said he will be back participating in cases in the 39th Circuit.
