One of the newer exhibitors at the Ozark Empire Fair this year was the Shepherd's Field Chapel, a portable wedding chapel run by Rev. Steve Carl. Located three miles from Mt. Vernon, the "Roamin' Chapel" is presumed to be the smallest wedding chapel in Missouri. Carl said he tries to provide a service for those who struggle with wedding expenses. His chapel building holds five people. His grotto at the Mt. Vernon home has room for 125 people. Carl had conducted three weddings in the first two days at the fair. Since starting his service in June 2008, he has conducted 165 weddings. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff] [Order this photo]
