Upcoming events at the Monett Branch Library during the month of August include a Wii gaming event on Thursday, Aug, 11 at 4 p.m. and a "Family Movie at the Library Event" on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 4 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend these events. More details are available by contacting the library.

The Monett Branch Library will be open regular hours on Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., beginning Saturday, Aug. 20. Weekday hours remain 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Fridays.

New adult fiction titles available at the Monett Branch Library include: "Spell Bound" by Kelley Armstrong; "A Path Less Traveled" by Cathy Bryant; "Ghost Story" by Jim Butcher; "Bannon Brothers: Trust" by Janet Dailey; "House Divided" by Michael Lawson; "Dreams of Joy" by Lisa See; "Portrait of a Spy" by Daniel Silva; "The Informationist" by Taylor Stevens; "The Nightmare Thief" by Meg Gardiner; "Out of the Waters" by David Drake; "The Big Switch" by Harry Turtledove; and "Choices of One" by Timothy Zahn.

New non-fiction titles include: "No Biking in the House Without a Helmet" by Melissa Fay Greene; "A Stolen Life" by Jaycee Dugard; "Beautiful Birth" by Suzanne Yates; "Dog Sense" by John Bradshaw; and "Lion of Liberty: Patrick Henry and the Call to a New Nation" by Harlow Unger.

New youth titles include: "The Hidden Coronet" by Catherine Fisher; "Flat Broke" by Gary Paulsen; and "Heart of Gold" by Michael Pryor.

New children's titles include: "Mine!" by Shutta Crum; "The Rain Train" by Elena De Roo; "Skippyjon Jones Class Action" by Judith Byron Schachner; and "Tumford the Terrible" by Nancy Tillman.
