New DVDs at the Pierce City Branch Library include: The Robe; St. Patrick, the Irish Legend; Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules; Haven: the Complete First Season; True Grit.
New adult fiction titles include: "The Art of Saying Goodbye" by Ellyn Bache; "Breaking Silence" by Linds Castillo; "The Mistress's Revenge" by Tamar Cohen; "Escape" by Barbara Delinsky, also in large print; "Misery Bay: an Alex McKnight Novel" by Steve Hamilton; "You're Next" by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz; "Dragon's Time" by Anne McCaffrey; "Now You See Her" by James Patterson, also in large print; and "Unraveled" by Maggie Sefton.
For the tween and teen readers, the library has added: "One Million Things: a Visual Encyclopedia" by DK Publishing; "The Accidental Genius of Weasel High" by Rick Detorie; "Boom! (or 70,000 Light Years)" by Mark Haddon; "Sign of the Moon" by Erin Hunter; and "Behemoth" by Scott Westerfeld.
For the youngest readers, the library has added one book, by Julie Andrews, "The Very Fairy Princess Takes the Stage."
The summer reading programs are drawing to a close. Parents are asked to have their children turn in the reading logs no later than July 22 so prizes can be determined. Everyone can continue to do calendar activities and turn in their calendars on July 27, the day of the last presentation, and still earn books.
The Pierce City Branch Library is located at 101 N. Walnut in Pierce City, north of the bandstand. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The library is closed on Mondays and closed for lunch on Thursdays from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
