The Pierce City High School football team will host a summer football camp from 6 to 8 p.m. July 25 through July 29 at Don Keebaugh Stadium in Pierce City. On Friday, July 29, the varsity football team will host a peewee football camp for kindergarten through sixth grade players from 6 to 7 p.m. The camp is free.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will be holding a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 at EFCO south in Monett.

The summer reading closing party at the Purdy Branch Library will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27. Certificates and prizes will be awarded, and children will participate in bubble fun in the park. The library is located on Highway C and Fourth Street. For more information, call 417-442-7314.

The Lawrence County Gospel Sing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 at Buck Prairie Baptist Church. The church is located on Farm Road 1230 south of Marionville.

Winners of the drawings held at the Stones Prairie Picnic were: Helen Sassmann, of Camdenton, a queen-size quilt; Claire Johnson, a baby quilt; and Pearl Mackey, of Monett, an afghan.

Silver teens will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 at the Monett Senior Center on Dairy Street to car pool to Bootleggers in Aurora for supper. For more information, call 235-9978.

The Barry County Council on Aging will meet at 10 a.m. on July 26 at the Cassville Senior Center.

A benefit cruise-in will be held for Mary Wilson from 5 to 9 p.m. on July 23 at the EFCO south parking lot in Monett, located next to Save-A-Lot. There will be a drawing, 50/50 pot, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. All proceeds go toward medical expenses for Mary Wilson.

Rebel's Bluff Troup will present "Barbecuing Hamlet" by Pat Cook on Aug. 5, 6 and 7 at the First Christian Church of Mt. Vernon. Proceeds will benefit the Hope Center in Mt. Vernon. On Aug. 5 and 6 there will be a dinner theatre at 6:30 p.m. for $20. The show only will be held at 8 p.m. for $10. The dinner will be catered by Maggie Mae's. On Aug. 7, there will be a show only held at 2 p.m. for $10. For ticket information, call 417-466-2985. Tickets for the show only can be bought at the door. Reservations are required for the dinner theatre by Aug. 1.

The Shell Knob Lions Club will host a community dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 23 at the Shell Knob Community Building. The event will feature Evelyn Lock and the Outriders Country Band.
