The United Methodist men's breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 15 at the Monett First United Methodist Church. For more information, call Don Bates at 236-2281.

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet on July 18. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Barry County Museum, located on Highway 112, south of Cassville. The public is invited to attend.

On June 30, the Barry County Commission appointed Tracy Holle and Vernal Caldwell to the Senior Citizens Services Tax Fund Board. The commission also appointed Ann Hall to the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library Board of Trustees. All three terms will expire on June 13, 2015.

The Monett Barry-Lawrence Regional Library will host the "150th Year Anniversary of the Civil War" at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. The event will be presented by representatives from the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Museum. On Wednesday, July 20 at 3:30 p.m., the adult summer reading grand prize drawing, valued at $330.94.

The Lawrence County Historical Society will host an ice cream social and fellowship replacing the regular meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 in the basement at Jones Memorial, located at 11110 Lawrence 1137 in Mt. The Monett High School Class of 1981 will be holding its 30-year class reunion Sept. 2 through Sept. 4. Dinner will be held at Freistatt on Saturday, Sept. 3. All classmates, from kindergarten to high school, are invited to attend. For more information, call Sarah Witt at 236-9455.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will host the following blood drives: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 at First Baptist Church in Aurora; and 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 at Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church.

A rabies clinic, sponsored by the Animal Clinic of Monett and the Pierce City Police Department, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16 at Pierce City South Park. The cost for the shot will be $7.50. Each person having their pet vaccinated will have their name put in a drawing for a gift card from Town and Country Supermarket in Pierce City.

The annual Kings Prairie Music Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the old Kings Prairie school house, located across from the Liberty Methodist Church on Farm Road 2015. The food service will begin at 4 p.m., and music will start at 6 p.m. The event is free. No alcohol is permitted on the grounds. For more information, call Nancy Dotson at 417-442-7910.

First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in Monett will be hosting Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 18 through July 22. The theme is "Galactic Blast" for children ages 4 to 11.
