Monday, July 11, 2011

An unusual flag retirement ceremony was held as part of the July 4th festivities at the Marionville City Park. Flags were disassembled and retired in sections, based on the colors. Pieces were taken to organizers by members of Boy Scout Troop #67, and additional assistance provided by Scout Troop #2, a special troop for handicapped Scouts. Flags were retired in a red glow from the center field of one of the baseball fields at Marionville City Park during the July 4th celebration, prior to the fireworks display.
