Monett Mighty Mites Football and Cheerleader sign ups for the 2011 season will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15 and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, located at Seventh and Cale Streets. The programs are open to children in third through sixth grades. Sign up fee is $50 for the first child and $40 for each additional child. Parents are asked to bring a copy of the childs birth certificate to the sign up, and players are required to have a current physical. For more information, call 235-9700 or 669-5546.

The Barry-Lawrence County Ambulance District Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. on July 12 at 307 Dairy St. in Monett.

First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in Monett will be hosting Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 18 through July 22. The theme is "Galactic Blast" for children from preschool through fifth grade. The event is sponsored by First Christian Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Stephen's Episcopal and Waldensian Presbyterian Church. For more information, call Pastor Ron Stair at 235-7233.

The annual Kings Prairie Music Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the old Kings Prairie school house, located across from the Liberty Methodist Church on Farm Road 2015. The food will begin to be served at 4 p.m., and music will start at 6 p.m. The event is free. No alcohol is permitted on the grounds. For more information, call Nancy Dotson at 417-442-7910.

A rabies clinic, sponsored by the Animal Clinic of Monett and the Pierce City Police Department, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16 at Pierce City South Park. The cost for the shot will be $7.50. Each person having their pet vaccinated will have their name put in a drawing for a gift card from Town and Country Supermarket in Pierce City.

The Pregnant and Breastfeeding Support Group will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 18 at the Barry County Health Department, located at 65 Main in Cassville. The Angel Food Ministry will take orders from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16 at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 700 Sycamore in Monett. Payment must be made at the time the order is placed. The cost of a box is $35 and can be paid with cash, money order or food stamps.

OACAC Early Head Start is a high quality child development program for children ages 0 to 3. Early Head Start provides medical and dental care, nutritious meals, child care and special services for children with disabilities. The program is designed to support healthy growth and development of children and support parents in their roles and the child's first and most important teacher.
