The Monett 911 Communications Center will be testing the tornado sirens and emergency phone notification system at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 11 instead of Monday, July 4 due to the holiday. The Flood Notification System will be tested at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 11. Individuals may report any malfunctions to the Monett 911 Communications Center by calling 235-4241.

First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in Monett will be hosting vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 18 through July 22. The theme is "Galactic Blast" for children from preschool through fifth grade. The Southwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District N will hold its executive board meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12 at Montana Mike's, located at 1464 Highway 248 in Branson. The meeting is open to the public.

Al-Anon will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays at the First Baptist Church in Pierce City, located one-quarter mile north on Highway 97. Those attending can enter through the west wing. For more information, call 417-476-5721.

The annual Purdy Livestock Show and Festival will be held on Saturday, July 9. In addition to the livestock show, the event will offer business booths and concessions. For more information, call 417-291-5819.

The annual Kings Prairie Music Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the old Kings Prairie school house, located across from the Liberty Methodist Church on Farm Road 2015. OACAC Early Head Start has immediate openings in Cassville and Verona for children ages 0 to 3. The program is a high quality child development program. Families who meet income guidelines and who are working or attending school are eligible to apply. For more information, call 235-8779.

The Shell Knob Lions Club will host a community dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 23 at the Shell Knob Community Building. The event will feature Evelyn Lock and the Outriders Country Band.
