The Monett Senior Center, located at 405 Dairy St., will host its monthly dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4. The Funtimers band will play. Snack foods are welcome. Admission is $3. For more information, call Vernal Caldwell at 235-5231.

A rabies clinic, sponsored by the Animal Clinic of Monett and the Pierce City Police Department, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16 at Pierce City South Park. The cost for the shot will be $7.50. Each person having their pet vaccinated will have their name put in a drawing for a gift card from Town and Country Supermarket in Pierce City.

The Barry County Courthouse and Judicial Center in Cassville will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

The Kings Prairie Community Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 to discuss the upcoming music festival. The meeting will be held east of Monett on Highway 60 to Highway Z then south on Farm Road 2015. The public is invited to attend.

Upcoming Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) blood drives include the following locations: 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 at the Church On the Loop in Mt. Vernon; 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 at First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon; and from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 at St. Mary's Catholic School in Pierce City.

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Barry/Lawrence County Chapter #42 will meet on Wednesday, July 20 at Alice Irene's Restaurant in Marionville. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the business meeting will follow. Active federal employees, including those nearing their fifth year prior to retirement, as well as current retirees, are invited to attend.

The Waldensian Presbyterian Church will hold its annual ice cream social beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. The menu will include homemade ice cream, pies and cakes, pimento cheese sandwiches, ham salad sandwiches, sloppy joes, potato chips, soft drinks, tea and coffee. The event will be held on the church grounds, located one and a half miles south of Monett on Waldensian Road. The public is invited to attend.

OACAC Early Head Start has immediate openings in Cassville and Verona for children ages 0 to 3. The program is a high quality child development program. Families who meet income guidelines and who are working or attending school are eligible to apply. For more information, call 235-8779.

The annual Purdy Livestock Show and Festival will be held on Saturday, July 9. In addition to the livestock show, the event will offer business booths and concessions. For more information, call 417-291-5819.
