James Dillon, of Monett, graduated with a master's degree in education, with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction and Valerie Ball, of Verona, received a master in education with an emphasis on special reading at Drury University. The commencement was held in the O'Reilly Family Event Center on May 14.
The Drury University day school in Springfield has announced its spring 2011 dean's list. Area students named to the dean's list include: Krista Boettler, Samantha Gripka, Jacob McCully and Peter Sumners, all of Aurora; Aaron Hubbard and Morgan Mais, both of Marionville; Tyler Abma, of Miller; Brittany Davis, Erin Gasser, Sara Hammond and Nikolas Pate, all of Monett; and Wilson Cowherd, of Mt. Vernon. The students earned a grade point average of 3.6 or greater on a 4.0 scale while carrying a full-time course load of 12 or more semester hours at Drury University.

William Jewell University
Rebecca Kean, of Monett, graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty. Kean received a bachelor of arts degree in English and theatre.
Rebecca Kean, of Monett, received the Austin Cooper Edwards Award for best female actor at the Celebration of Honors held on April 15 on the William Jewell College campus in Liberty. Kean was a senior majoring in English, theatre and applied critical thought and inquiry during the spring 2011 semester.
Corey Krebs, of Mt. Vernon, was named to the dean's list at William Jewell College in Liberty for the 2011 spring semester. Krebs was a sophomore majoring in organizational communication and applied critical thought and inquiry.
University of Missouri
The University of Missouri in Columbia has released its spring semester 2011 dean's list. Truman State University in Kirksville has released the spring 2011 Provost and Vice President for academic affairs' list. Among the students named was Lee Jones, of Monett, majoring in economics. To qualify for this list, an undergraduate student must attain a semester a 3.50 to 3.99 grade point average and must complete 12 semester hours of credit.
Truman State University in Kirksville has released the spring 2011 president's list. Michelle Elyse Noriega, of Monett, and Jessica Curl, of Mt. Vernon, was named to the president's list. To qualify for the list, an undergraduate student must attain a semester 4.0 grade point average and complete 12 semester hours of credit.
Students were recognized for their achievements during Ottawa University's spring honors convocation held on April 14, in the OU chapel, in Ottawa, Kan. Jon C. Hull, of Mt. Vernon, received awards for All-American scholar-athlete and KCAC All-Academic Athlete, both for football.
Bianca Holloway, of Monett, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2011 semester at Maryville University in St. Louis. Undergraduate students are eligible for the dean's list when they complete at least 12 Maryville University hours in the semester with a minimum of 3.33 grade point average.
Ethan Kristek, of Aurora, has been named to the dean's list at Fontbonne University in St. Louis. Kristek is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in speech-language pathology.
Cooper Atkeson, of Mt. Vernon, received a bachelor of arts degree in music at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. Atkeson graduated magna cum laude at spring commencement exercises on May 11.
Central Mo. University
