Local delegates have been selected to attend the 71st annual session of Missouri Girls State. High school juniors about to start their senior year attend a week-long exercise in model government.
Delegates learn how governments works, electing municipal, county and state officials. Members also hear from leaders in the public and private sectors as well as taking classes in specific skills.
Girls State will be held June 19 through June 25 at the University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg.
