St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, of Monett, will host a Mass in the Park followed by a picnic on Saturday, June 18, at Monett South Park, across from the golf course. The Mass will begin at 11 a.m. and will feature special music by the Quick and the Dead, a musical group from St. John's Episcopal Church, in Kansas City. The event is part of a larger series of events being held by a group of Episcopal Churches in the Ozarks, EChO, meeting together to strengthen ministries in the Ozarks. For the picnic, St. Stephen's will provide the meat, drinks, plates and plasticware for the picnic and those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. The public is invited to attend.

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, located on 405 Seventh St. The blood drive will help with the Joplin recovery.

Those who have placed flowers on graves at the Purdy Cemetery are asked to remove them prior to Friday, June 17 for mowing purposes. Flowers that have not been removed by Friday morning will be disposed of.

The First Baptist Church Lee's Summit youth choir will be in concert at First Baptist Church in Monett, 2581 Highway 37 South, on Saturday, June 18 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Neighborhood Watch program will meet at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 17 in the basement at St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Monett. The program currently covers the areas from Broadway to Cleveland and from Fifth Street to Ninth Street. The public is invited to attend.

The Pleasant Ridge Special Road District will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at the Pleasant Ridge school house. The meeting is open to the public.

The Rocking A Saddle Club will host a Gaited Sho-Me Horse Show at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17 at the Aurora arena. A Stock Show-Me Horse Show will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. for more information, call 417-229-1205 or visit

The Kings Prairie Special Road District commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 at Grant's Restaurant in Monett
