The Monett Area Extended Employment (Sheltered) Workshop will hold a board meeting at noon on Wednesday, June15, at the workshop, located at 204 S. Central in Monett.

Weather permitting, the City of Monett Public Works Department will spray for mosquitoes from 8 p.m. until approximately midnight as follows: Tuesday, June 14, north of Cleveland; Wednesday, June 15, between Cleveland and Highway 60; and Thursday, June 16, south of Highway 60. The City of Purdy will host an annual city-wide garage sale on Saturday, June 18. A list of participants and maps will be available on Friday, June 17 at local businesses.

The Eastside Church of Christ, located at 1613 17th St. in Monett, will hold a gospel meeting June 19 through June 22. The guest speaker will be Walter Buchanan. The public is invited to attend.

The Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207 VFW Ladies Auxiliary will host lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 at the Post home, located on Highway 60 west of Monett. The cost is $5. The menu will be open faced roast beef sandwich, mashed potatos and brown gravy, seasoned green beans, salads and dessert.

A spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 16 at the American Legion Hall in Monett, located at 717 E. Broadway. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12. Carryouts are available. Proceeds will to toward the Legion youth programs.

A benefit dinner for Breann Weatherly will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City. Spaghetti, salad, rolls, desserts and tea will be served with a pie auction beginning at 6 p.m. For more information or to donate food items, call 417-548-7400.

The First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church, of Monett, will sponsor a garage sale on Saturday, June 18. The event will be held in the church basement on Fourth Street. Proceeds will go toward the Margaret Isbell Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Descendants of Kate Williams and James "Pap" Arnold and their siblings will hold a family reunion from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 at Monett South Park Casino. A potluck dinner will be held at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited.

Aurora's second annual Run for the Parks 5K/10K will be held at 8 a.m. on June 18 at Crosby Park. All proceeds will go toward creating walking and biking trails in Aurora's parks.
