The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Barry/Lawrence County Chapter #42, will meet on Wednesday, June 15, at Grant's Restaurant in Monett. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the business meeting to follow. Active federal employees including those nearing their fifth year prior to retirement, as well as current retirees, are invited to attend.

The Habitat for Humanity, Monett/Purdy Affiliate will meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at the First Christian Church in Monett. The public is invited to attend.

The Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207 VFW Ladies Auxiliary will host lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 at the Post home, located on Highway 60 west of Monett. The cost is $5. The menu will be open faced roast beef sandwich, mashed potatos and brown gravy, seasoned green beans, salads and dessert.

The annual Purdy Livestock Show and Festival will be held on Saturday, July 9. In addition to the livestock show, the event will offer business booths and concessions. For more information, call 417-291-5819.

The Lawrence County Retired Teachers will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 24 at Lai Lai Restaurant in Monett. The event will be hosted by the Barry County RTA. The speaker will be from the PSRS/PEERS Retirement System. Spouses, new retirees and guests are invited to attend. Following the speaker, a buffet lunch will be held. If Lawrence County members wish to car pool they are asked to meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Aurora First Baptist Church parking lot.

Descendents of George (Jack) and Florence Reynolds will hold a reunion on June 11 at the home of Mary Lou and Brent White, 2465 Lawrence 2147 in Sarcoxie. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and lawn chairs. Donnie Reynolds will be celebrating his 81st birthday.

The Southwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District N will meet at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at Alice Irene's Restaurant in Marionville. The meeting is open to the public.

An old-fashioned tent revival will be held June 13 through June 17 at Longview. Services will begin at 7 p.m. each evening. Melvin "Hap" Anders will be speaking on Monday and Friday; Curtis Bradley will be speaking on Tuesday; Frank Arnall and on Wednesday; and Larry Wormington on Thursday. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will be holding the following blood drives: 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 at Cox Monett Hospital.
