HISTORIC BARN HIT

Friday, June 3, 2011

(Photo)
One of the casualties of the May 22 tornadoes crossing southwest Missouri was the landmark barn on Barry and Gina Merritt's farm near the Newton County line, north of Highway 37. The barn was over 100 years old and had undergone a restoration in 2006. The Merritts were not home at the time of the storm. Gina Merritt said the barn will be rebuilt but cannot be returned to its original form. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff] [Order this photo]
