Sacred Heart Church in Verona will host its annual Summer Fest on Saturday, June 11.
The popular event will include a country store, bingo and children's games, including a duck pond, "dart" vader, ping pong toss, pedal tractor maze and the cow barrel train.
Food will be served beginning at 5 p.m. The menu will offer a choice of bratwursts and sauerkraut, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, authentic Mexican food and homemade desserts.
The event includes a line-up of musical entertainment that continues throughout the festival. The schedule is as follows: 5 to 7:30 p.m., Lineligt DJ Service by Greg Duvall; 7:30 to 8 p.m., kid's fun dance; 8 to 9:15 p.m., gospel music by Resurrection; and 9:30 to 10 p.m., Lineligt DJ Service by Greg Duvall.
Drawings, featuring over $2,000 worth of prizes, will be held at 6:30, 8 and 9:30 p.m. Some of the prizes include a Wii gaming system, mini-notebook computer, trimmer leaf blower, patio set, Eureka Springs trip, St. Louis trip, tickets to various Branson attractions and gift certificates.
The festival will be preceded by Mass at 4 p.m. Sacred Heart Church is located at the corner of Second and Adams Streets in Verona. Summer Fest activities are held on the parking lot behind the church's parish hall. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs.
In case of rain, Summer Fest will be held on Sunday, June 12.
